Taylor is a dancer, teacher, choreographer, and fitness instructor based in Iowa City, IA. She is using her Biology and Dance degrees from Luther and her time with the Movement Fundamentals curriculum to move and teach with body as source.
My research involves applying the Movement Fundamentals paradigm, principles, and practices to classical dance training to ignite embodied movement, self-awareness, and artistry in young dancers. Another facet of my research includes using MF to train bodies for strength and mobility as a group fitness instructor. There are three MF Tenets of Practice that I focus on in these endeavors. The first encourages learning (and teaching) through sensory awareness, proprioception, and imagery. The second is using vocabulary of anatomy, spacial intent, movement qualities, and design elements. The third Tenet I focus on in my work is embolden every body shape, age, and ability with agency and refinement.
